Nicole Ari Parker has worked on film, television, and on stages. The actress is best known for her role as Teri (the fierce legal) Joseph. Nikki Kodjoe became her stage name following her marriage. As a child living in Baltimore, Maryland, she was always fascinated by acting. At the Maryland high school competition during her first years of training, she was awarded the title for the best actress. Alongside her involvement at the theater and in the ballet company, she was also a part of 'The Washington Ballet Company. The company awarded her the degree of Acting at New York University. The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love was her first major performance. Films like Blue Streak and Boogie Nights Spark followed. Soul Food received a lot of applause for her work. Contractor, who was raised by his parents in Nigeria and Mumbai when he was 7, had traveled across the globe and lived through various cultures while growing up. After attending boarding school over seven years London, her family relocated to Toronto Canada in which she lived for much of her early years and early adulthood. Contractor trained and eventually became an expert in classical dancing in Toronto. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts which was a highly specialized high school where she was able to study not just dance but also theatre. Contractor, who had been dancing for more than 10 years by the time she was when she decided to pursue acting. After graduating high school, she accepted a full scholarship to the University of Toronto, where she earned a master's degree in theatre and a double major in sociology and psychology. Contractor landed her first role after a year of university. After 92 performances, she received praise from the audience. The play was deemed one of the most successful productions by Canadian reviewers. Contractor was offered the opportunity to take part in the conservatory program, where a select eight men and four females are selected to take a crash course of 20 weeks on classical theater which she gladly accepted. Contractor got a confirmed slot for the following season. She was also offered the role as Hermia.
